IPL 2025 Unsold Player List: After the opener doesn’t sell at auction, David Warner’s romance with the IPL comes to an end.

On Monday, November 24 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, former Australian cricketer David Warner’s romance with the Indian Premier League (IPL) ended as the star batsman went unsold in the 2025 season’s super auction. In his first appearance at the bidding event on Day 2, Warner failed to attract any buyers despite entering the auction with a base price of INR 2 crore.

In the last rushed round, the former Australia opener made a second appearance, but no team was still interested in hiring him. As a result, the former IPL champion captain will not be participating in the T20 extravaganza for the first time since Cricket Australia (CA) banned him for a year in 2018 for his role in the ball-tampering incident during the Cape Town Test match against South Africa in March of that year.

Warner has amassed 6565 runs at an average of 40.52 and a strike rate of 139.77, including four hundreds and 62 fifties, making him the fourth-highest run scorer in the tournament’s history. Because he was the leading run scorer in the seasons of 2015 (562 runs), 2017 (641 runs), and 2019 (692 runs), Warner has earned the coveted Orange Cap the most times in IPL history.
