Umesh Yadav, a bowler for India, was not sold during the just finished Indian Premier League 2025 super auctions. It is noteworthy that Umesh was selected for INR 5.80 crore by the Gujarat Titans in the 2024 mini auction. During his seven games, he took eight wickets at an economy rate of 10 and an average of 26.25. The IPL 2025 auction left the right-arm pacer unsold, and he said he was “frustrated and disturbed.”
Umesh has participated in 148 IPL games thus far, playing for the Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. However, at the recent IPL 2025 Mega Auction, no bids were drawn to the Vidarbha cricket player. The cricket player talked candidly about his feelings over not being sold out for the huge event’s eighteenth edition.

“Everyone is aware that I was not chosen for this year’s IPL. I’ve played for fifteen years. I find it odd that it wasn’t sold during the 2025 Indian Premier League. Why should I tell lies? It is unpleasant. You don’t be picked even though you’ve played in over 150 IPL matches. It’s startling. Either the franchisees and their tactics are to blame, or my name was late in the auction and they lost money. At any rate, something has occurred. I’m so agitated and frustrated. Still, it’s all right. According to Inside Sport, Umesh stated, “I can’t change anyone’s decision.”
The Nagpur native had surgery just after the IPL 2024 ended. He had given an update on the same and encouraged us to return with more strength. The pacer resolutely said after being scrutinized in the 2025 Indian Premier League that his body can reach speeds of 140 kmph and that he will stop bowling the day it can no longer.
“I underwent surgery on my leg after that. I’ll bowl till I feel like I can reach 140 kmph. When I am unable to bowl, I will also give up cricket. He went on, “I won’t have to tell anyone about this.”
