At the IPL super auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, KL Rahul was purchased by the Delhi Capitals for ₹14 crore. Rahul became Delhi’s second auction acquisition after fierce rivalry in the bidding battle caused the Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders to raise the price before Delhi won the deal.
After guiding the Lucknow Super Giants for three seasons since joining the team in 2022, Rahul was let go earlier this year. The 32-year-old played for Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Royal Challengers Bangalore prior to joining LSG.
Rahul is an experienced player in the IPL with 4,683 runs in 132 games. In all three forms of the game, he has been a reliable right-handed hitter and a regular member of the Indian national squad.
