The Delhi Capitals purchased left-arm pacer T Natarajan for ₹10.75 crore in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) super auction.
Natarajan, a T20 cricket superstar, debuted in the format at the age of 26.
He joined Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2017 season after initially signing with Kings XI Punjab.
Over the years, Natarajan has established himself as a regular of the IPL with to his precise yorkers and left-arm speed.
On April 8, 2017, Natarajan played his first IPL match for Kings XI Punjab against the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant.
He started off well (one for 26 in three overs), but he was unable to stay up.
Natarajan just claimed two wickets in six games during his first year.
He was released by Punjab after a lackluster tenure, and Sunrisers Hyderabad purchased him for Rs. 40 lakh in the 2018 auction.
After joining Sunrisers Hyderabad, Natarajan’s career took a turn for the better. Prior to the 2022 IPL season, he received a pay increase to Rs. 4 crore due to his steady performances.
He was Hyderabad’s top wicket-taker in the 2024 season, with 19 at a rate of 24.47 in 14 games.
He has 67 total wickets at 29.39 in 61 IPL games.
Sunrisers Hyderabad cut Natarajan before the 2025 season, despite his outstanding 2024 campaign.
