Quinton de Kock is one of the most prolific T20 openers and is well-known for his ability to destroy elite bowling lineups with his fast-paced runs. In 2013, Quinton debuted for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
De Kock has been practicing his strategy against spinners lately. De Kock is a useful asset in the game’s shortest format after retiring from test and One Day International cricket to concentrate on franchise cricket.
During the IPL 2025 mega auction, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) paid INR 3.6 crores to recruit a South African wicketkeeper. They prevailed against MI and SRH in the bidding war.

Quinton, who is renowned for his expertise and capacity to lead innings under duress, will enhance KKR’s lineup. After letting go of Phil Salt, KKR has found a fantastic successor in De Kock.
De Kock made his IPL debut with SRH in 2013, but it wasn’t until 2015 that he had his first successful season with the Delhi Daredevils (now the Delhi Capitals). With 445 runs scored, including his first IPL century, De Kock had an amazing 2016 season with the team.
De Kock played for RCB in 2018 before being released after being sidelined for the 2017 season. After that, he played for MI in 2019 and 2020, helping them win the IPL championships and scoring 500 runs in each season.
After joining the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in 2022, De Kock scored 508 runs and was instrumental in the team’s playoff success.
In 2013, Quinton de Kock’s IPL pay was INR 1 crore with SRH. From 2014 to 2017, it increased to INR 3.5 crore with DD (now DC). After that, he was moved to MI (2018–2021) after being purchased by RCB in 2018 for INR 2.8 crores. He was purchased by LSG at the IPL 2022 super auction with INR 6.75 crores.
