The 26-year-old English all-rounder, who played for the team from Chennai in 2020 and 2021, was acquired by the five-time champions for Rs 2.4 crore.

The Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin, who was paid little under 10 crore, was one of several Chennai old boys who CSK acquired in the 2025 auction.

Along with adding Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad to their team for Rs 10 crore, they were also able to repurchase the Kiwi pair of Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra for Rs 6.25 crore and Rs 4 crore, respectively.

Additionally, Indian batsman Rahul Tripathi and seamer Khaleel Ahmed were priced out by Stephen Fleming and company.

In another homecoming, the team from the Tamil Nadu capital also spent Rs 1.2 crore to get Vijay Shankar’s services.
