At Sunday’s IPL 2025 Mega Auction, SunRisers Hyderabad paid Rs. 11.40 crore to get wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan.
Before withdrawing from the Delhi Capitals vs. Punjab Kings competition, Kishan’s previous team, the Mumbai Indians, made a bid of up to Rs 3 crore for his services. Before snagging Kishan for the upcoming season, SRH entered the bidding war late.

In 2016, Kishan made his IPL debut after being acquired by the Gujarat Lions for Rs 35 lakh. He spent six years with the Mumbai Indians after being signed by them in the 2018 auctions.
In 105 IPL appearances, Kishan has amassed 2644 runs with a strike rate of 135.87. He has also been a candidate for the Orange Cap on several occasions.
The unpopular In 32 T20I appearances, the Indian keeper amassed 796 runs with a strike rate of 124.37. His 2022 ODI double century against Bangladesh continues to be his most noteworthy international cricket achievement. Kishan will strive to return to the international team in Twenty20 Internationals by playing with his aggressive mentality.
Before losing his position across formats after choosing to take a mental health vacation, the Jharkhand keeper last played for India at home against Australia in November 2023. During India A’s recent trip to Australia, Kishan got embroiled in a controversy after umpire Shawn Craig reprimanded him for displaying disapproval during the opening tour match at Mackay last month.
