All of India’s matches in the upcoming eight-team competition will be held outside of Pakistan, as announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday. Pakistan, the host of the tournament, will play New Zealand in the opening match in Karachi on February 19, 2025. The highly anticipated league encounter between Pakistan and India is scheduled for Sunday, February 23.
In India’s group, alongside Pakistan, are Bangladesh and New Zealand. The second group consists of South Africa, Australia, England, and Afghanistan. With the exception of India’s matches, all games for both groups will take place in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. The two semi-finals are set for March 4 (without a reserve day) and March 5 (with a reserve day).

Additionally, there will be a reserve day for the final on March 9. If India advances to the first semi-final, it will be held in the United Arab Emirates. However, if India does not qualify, Pakistan will host that match. The final is scheduled to take place in Lahore, but if India reaches the final, it may also be held in the United Arab Emirates.
This arrangement is part of a hybrid model agreed upon by the parties, allowing for Pakistan’s matches in ICC tournaments hosted by India through 2027 to also be played at neutral locations. Neutral venues will host all knockout matches, including the semi-finals and the championship match.
