Using their Right to Match (RTM) card to outbid fierce opposition, the Delhi Capitals successfully re-acquired 31-year-old bowler Mukesh Kumar for Rs 8 crore during a fierce bidding battle at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.

With a starting price of Rs 2 crore, Mukesh, a medium-pace bowler with remarkable ball-sealing skills, first went up for auction. Chennai Super Kings made the initial bid, and Punjab Kings swiftly entered the bidding.
In 2023, Mukesh Kumar debuted in the IPL with the Delhi Capitals. He participated in 10 games and took 7 wickets in his first season. He had a modest beginning, but he showed signs of promise and earned experience that helped pave the way for a breakthrough the next season.
Even though the Delhi Capitals almost missed the playoffs, Mukesh had established himself as a vital bowler for Delhi by 2024, collecting 17 wickets in 10 games and constantly performing in key situations.
Mukesh’s impressive IPL 2024 results demonstrated his development as a bowler, which was supported by his international experience. He also made his debut for Team India in all three forms the same year.
